A San Diego 4th of July

I forgot my camera half of the time, so this post doesn't show all the fun times we had - but it gives you a good idea. We decided to pack up and spend the 4th in San Diego with the Kipps and Vegas this year. Trading the heat of Arizona for the ocean breeze of Del Mar...Ohhh it was perfect.

We enjoyed Belmont park - riding the roller coaster, playing amusement park games, people watching and eating at Luigi's - home of the 3 ft pizza. We didn't get that, but our pizza was deliciuos.

After some of us ran in the 4th of July Coronado 15k/5k in the morning, we spent the day at Torrey Pines beach and it was perfect. However, the water was ice cold - so our wimpy bodies stayed out of it. That night we had a hotdog / marshmellow roast at the Kipps house. It seems like it has been forever since I roasted a hotdog over the fire - it was awesome.

We celebrated Cassidy's 15th Birthday on the 5th and took her to Harrah's brunch buffet. Happy Birthday Cass. I hope your wish comes true.

The rest of the weekend we did what we always do in San Diego... hung out, watched movies, played mario cart, ate lots of yummy food - especially Chuck's breakfast burritos, laughed and made wonderful memories. Thanks Kipps for your hospitality and letting us invade your home.

We had such a great time - my body decided to punish me by "picking-up" a horrible case of bronchitis and an enjoyable case of pink eye when we got home. I guess i'm giving you warning - stay away from our house.

Lake Powell 09

We just got back from our lovely annual trip to Lake Powell. It was so fun to be with the Watson clan and catch up on what's going on in our lives. Colby was able to join us this year and we enjoyed teasing him about being our son. The weather was almost perfect...Friday we got rained out, but the rest of the time was awesome. Nothing's better than a good trip to Lake Powell, basking in the sun, munching on junk food, and having no sense of time.

Oh...and as a special bonus to ourselves we stopped at Little America in Flagstaff to enjoy turkey dinner. It was so tasty.
